Christmas 2016
Imose Cares Foundation International sponsored 30 children to a fun-filled Christmas event at Silverbird Abuja. The children met with Father Christmas (Santa Claus), went to a movie, and enjoyed games in the arcades. These children live outside in make-shift houses made out of wood and used sack bags. The children had a really good time. Christmas 2016

May 2015.
Miracle Omendi, a 16-year old wise and gentle kid that Imose Cares met at Old Parade ground ( sport event center) in Abuja while playing badminton. In fact he was the one training the adults. Miracle is so talented and skilled in badminton the adults request him on their teams and play with him in tournaments.
After others had gone, I asked him to play he said he didn’t have racket. I thought to myself how can a kid training others and so skilled in the sport not have ONE racket?
So, during one of my procurements from America I bought him a badminton set, not knowing a racket was the least of his needs.
I later found out that Miracle had been out of school since May 2014 for one year. Miracle and his brother Liberty, 12 y/o ran away from their Aunts house in Niger State back to Abuja in August.
Miracle stated that him and his brother were badly mistreated and slept in the same area with pigs. Their Aunt would make them eat the same scraps the pigs were eating. The stories are endless and heartbreaking what these boys went through. They had not seen their parents in years. Their mum was admitted at a mental hospital in Gwagalada suffering from Schizophrenia and other mental illness.
They now live with their father who is suffered from a stroke years ago, coupled with memory loss, a bit of psychosis and his legs aren’t functioning.
To make a long story short, I took it upon myself to try and enroll Miracle in school, but the Nigerian Educational system made it a bit difficult. Even when one is trying to do a good deed. Everyday, for one week, I picked Miracle up from Old Parade ground in morning. We went to several secondary schools and we were bounced around, left and right (I can not imagine if I was treated with no regard how students are treated because some school staffs that I encountered were very rude).
Meanwhile, I took him to snap passport pics, made ID card, we went to bank to open a ‘cool teens’ saving account (yet he needs signature of an adult, I cannot involve myself into personal accounts). I took him to market to buy shirt and trouser because he had been wearing the same sport clothes 3 days in a row. I asked if he had other clothes he said, he is saving his only one for church ( I wept on the inside).
On that Thursday, I met with his father where they stay in a one room filled with trash and smelled like urine. The father could not walk and at times urinates in the room. As a trained psychotherapist it’s safe to say the father is suffering from mental illness. He was just talking to me then would divert to insult the son.
So, after persistence and the grace of God, Miracle and I found favor at the Education Resource Center. After following their protocols: go to Aso Savings get draft ,come back, go here, this person not on seat.several hours of waiting and dealing with different attitudes…here then there FINALLY…
Miracle started school at government secondary school near old parade ground!!!!!.
Imose Cares Foundation International solely run and funded by the founder and the grace of God.
Many kids are like Miracle who have excellent marks (grades) and the zeal for education yet no one behind them to support and encourage them.
His two younger brothers are out of school well, they live in one congested smelling room in the old parade ground filled with old crates of bottles and sleep on this mat on top of iron material. I want to clear and clean the environment to make it conducive for studying. They need mats/foam, clothes for 16,12,7 year old, fan, food to take to school.
